This is a web version of the LLM Chess Engine research project. Play as White — the engine plays Black. When the VICE engine with Llama-3 is available, it uses LLM-generated moves. If the engine binary is missing, the UI switches to random-move fallback mode.
Research Question: Can constraining an LLM with a legal-move list eliminate hallucinated chess moves?
